Stenner Peristaltic Metering Pumps: Chemical Feed for Industrial, Mining, and Water Treatment Applications

Stenner peristaltic metering pumps are the industry standard for precise chemical dosing in water treatment, mining process water, and industrial disinfection systems. Water Services Inc stocks the full Stenner lineup — fixed-rate and adjustable-rate models, tubing, fittings, and accessories.

How Peristaltic Metering Pumps Work

Peristaltic pumps move fluid by compressing a flexible tube with a rotating roller mechanism. The fluid never contacts the pump mechanism — only the tube interior — which makes them ideal for:

·       Corrosive chemicals (chlorine, sodium hypochlorite, acids, caustics)

·       Viscous or shear-sensitive fluids

·       Precise low-flow dosing where accuracy is critical

·       Self-priming applications with variable suction lift

There are no seals, valves, or mechanical components in the fluid path, which significantly reduces maintenance intervals compared to diaphragm or piston metering pumps.

Available Models and Key Specifications

Fixed-Rate Models

·       85MPHP40: 40 GPD output, 100 PSI max discharge pressure, 1/4 in connection

·       Suited to constant-dose applications where flow rate does not require field adjustment

Adjustable-Rate Models

·       45M3: 22 GPD, 25 PSI, 1/4 in connection — low-pressure residential and light commercial

·       45MHP22: 22 GPD, 100 PSI, 3/8 in connection — higher-pressure industrial and process water systems

High-Capacity Chemical Metering

·       Peristaltic Chem Meter Pump: 315 GPD output, 100 PSI — suited to large-scale industrial dosing, mining water treatment, and municipal chlorination systems

Stennicator (Proportional Dosing)

·       Econ Stennicator: 1:128 dilution ratio, 2.7 oz/min, 80 PSI — proportional injection for flow-paced chemical addition

Accessories and Consumables

Stenner pumps require periodic tube replacement as the primary maintenance task. WSI stocks:

·       Pump tubes (No. 7 tube, Versilon 1/4 in, Santoprene 1 in) — matched to chemical compatibility requirements

·       Suction/discharge tubing: 100 ft x 1/4 in UV-black (UV-stabilized for outdoor installations)

·       Injection check valves: 1/4 in — prevents backflow into the chemical solution tank

·       Ferrules: 1/4 in (PK24) — compression fittings for tubing connections

·       Roller clutch and index pin spring — internal drive components for pump head maintenance

Tube selection is critical: Santoprene for chlorine and sodium hypochlorite; Versilon (PTFE-lined) for aggressive acids and solvents.
