The Viking VK617 K11.2 Extended Coverage Light Hazard Pendent Sprinkler is engineered for commercial fire suppression systems protecting light hazard spaces such as offices, schools, and healthcare facilities. Installed directly in ceiling-mounted wet pipe fire suppression assemblies, this pendent sprinkler utilizes a dual standard and quick response mechanism to ensure fast, reliable activation during the initial stages of a fire.
This unit strictly satisfies the design and installation mandates of NFPA 13, ensuring full code compliance for extended coverage light hazard applications. By expanding the protected area per sprinkler, the VK617 minimizes the total component count required across large rooms, reducing overall material costs and installation complexity without compromising occupant life safety or property protection.
Key Features & Construction
- Extended Coverage Design: Expands the protected area per sprinkler, reducing the total quantity needed and simplifying layout requirements in large rooms.
- Dual Standard/Quick Response: Features a thermosensitive fusible link that triggers faster activation during initial fire stages for earlier intervention.
- High K-Factor (11.2): Optimizes hydraulic performance to deliver precise water flow and distribution, improving fire suppression effectiveness while minimizing water waste.
- Durable Brass Body: Crafted for longevity with corrosion-resistant finishes suited for diverse indoor commercial environments.
- Pendent Orientation: Installs from the ceiling for efficient water coverage directed straight downward into the hazard zone.
